Black Friday 2025 Arrives Early — Sales Kick Off on Halloween

It’s official — Black Friday 2025 is arriving earlier than ever. In fact, some of this year’s biggest holiday sales are kicking off before the Halloween candy even finishes being handed out. Retailers are wasting no time launching their mega-deals, turning October 31 into the unofficial start of “Black November.”

Traditionally, Black Friday falls the day after Thanksgiving, which in 2025 lands on November 28. But this year, major stores like Best Buy, Amazon, Costco, and Walmart have all decided to jump the gun, rolling out early deals that promise deep discounts weeks ahead of schedule.

Best Buy is leading the charge with its “Door BOOster” event beginning October 31 — a clever Halloween twist to kick off their early Black Friday push. The company plans to keep the momentum going with more sales every Friday leading up to their full-scale event on November 20. Amazon, as expected, isn’t staying far behind. The retail giant is beginning its discounts in early November, starting with its popular in-house products like Echo speakers, Fire TV sticks, and Kindles, before expanding to bigger categories throughout the month.

Costco is also joining the early rush, starting its deals on Halloween and rolling out its main event on November 17. Meanwhile, Walmart has mapped out a three-phase sale strategy that begins November 14, with Walmart Plus members getting first dibs a day earlier on November 13. The second wave aligns with the traditional Black Friday, and the final round transitions smoothly into Cyber Monday.

At Walmart’s West Chester, Ohio location, manager Jayna Hill offered a glimpse at some of the upcoming deals — and they’re pretty eye-catching. Imagine scoring a massive 98-inch TCL TV for just $998, nearly half its usual price. Or picking up a Dyson V12 Detect Slim cordless vacuum slashed from $729 down to $399.99. Smaller bargains include a Dreo portable space heater for $38.99, and even a Barbie Malibu playset marked down from $21 to $12.

While many shoppers are already preparing to take advantage of these early discounts, not everyone is ready to dive in before November. One shopper, Ivan Samson, admitted he’s still hesitant. “It’s a little too early, but I’m thinking about it,” he said.

As of late October, Target has yet to unveil its lineup of Black Friday offers, but given the competitive rush, it’s only a matter of time before they join the early-bird crowd.

So, if you’ve been planning to wait until Thanksgiving week to hunt for bargains, you might want to start sooner. This year, Halloween doesn’t just bring costumes and candy — it brings the first wave of holiday savings too.
