Dillon Danis Banned for Life After Chaotic UFC 322 Brawl

You won’t believe what went down at UFC 322—this one is wild. Dillon Danis, who’s famously known as Conor McGregor’s former trainer, has been banned for life from the UFC following a chaotic brawl that erupted near the octagon. UFC president Dana White didn’t hold back, taking full responsibility for allowing Danis to remain in the arena before things spiraled out of control.

The incident happened in New York, just as the main card was about to begin. Footage that surfaced on social media shows security scrambling to break up a melee involving multiple people. Danis can be seen being handled by staff while trying to rejoin the fray, even picking up his shoe in the process. At one point, he was punched in the back of the head, apparently by Magomed Zaynukov, who is part of Islam Makhachev’s training team. Despite the chaos, Danis repeatedly told security, “I didn’t do anything,” insisting he just wanted to sit down. Police also got involved as he was being escorted out.

Dana White explained in the post-event press conference that he had been warned just before the main card that Danis was moving around and not in his assigned seat. White admitted that he made a mistake by letting him stay, saying he had considered ejecting Danis but ultimately decided against it because he had paid for a ticket. White also revealed that retired fighter Jorge Masvidal was only a few rows away from Danis and had told security that he would confront him immediately if needed.

White’s comments didn’t stop there. He described the scene as completely unexpected, with the first five rows crowded with Makhachev’s team. “As soon as it broke out, I was over the other side and thought, ‘I know exactly what that is... you will never see Dillon Danis at a UFC fight again,’” White said. Interestingly, the UFC chose not to press charges against Danis, despite police inquiries, because White accepted full responsibility for the incident.

The brawl also put fans and fighters’ families at risk. Jack Della Maddalena’s mother reportedly had a barricade knocked over in front of her, adding to the tense and dangerous environment. The melee unfolded just before the fight between Benoit Saint-Denis and Beneil Dariush, leaving the crowd stunned.

In short, Dillon Danis’ actions have officially ended his UFC attendance privileges for life. The chaos at UFC 322 will be remembered not for the fights themselves, but for the explosive brawl that could have easily been prevented, a mistake Dana White openly admitted to.

This episode is a stark reminder of how quickly things can escalate in combat sports, especially when rivalries and egos collide outside the octagon. UFC fans are sure to be talking about this one for a long time.
