Dylan Guenther's Late Goal Seals Utah's Victory Over Blues
Utah Hockey Club delivered a thrilling 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues, thanks to a clutch, game-deciding goal by Dylan Guenther in the dying minutes of the third period. In a moment that shifted the game’s balance, Guenther intercepted a pass from Blues forward Jordan Kyrou, breaking free into a 2-on-1 situation. Attempting to center the puck, Guenther's pass deflected off Blues defenseman Colton Parayko, slipping past goalie Joel Hofer to give Utah a crucial 3-2 lead at just 3:21 left in regulation. This goal not only broke the tie but marked a moment of redemption for a Utah team that had been struggling on the road.

The match started with high energy, as Utah took an early lead just 18 seconds into the first period. Michael Kesselring managed to slip a breakaway shot through Hofer's legs, giving Utah momentum. The Blues fought back, with Parayko responding later in the first period, firing a wrist shot that tied the game 1-1 and brought the Enterprise Center crowd back to life. By the second period, Matias Maccelli restored Utah's lead, landing a wrist shot from the right circle to make it 2-1. However, Kyrou, looking to redeem his earlier missteps, tied the game once more with a powerful one-timer in the third period, evening the score at 2-2.
With the game on the line, Utah’s defense showed up strong, limiting the Blues to just 15 shots throughout the game. Goaltender Connor Ingram, while only facing 13 shots, held firm, helping end Utah's five-game road losing streak. Meanwhile, St. Louis struggled to capitalize on their power-play opportunities, going scoreless during three power plays, including a brief two-man advantage in the first period. These missed chances proved costly, as Utah managed to seal the game.
In the final seconds, Jack McBain scored into an empty net, bringing the game to its 4-2 conclusion and capping off Utah’s hard-fought victory.
