Tamil Actor-Comedian Robo Shankar Passes Away at 46
Tamil cinema has been struck by a wave of grief with the sudden passing of actor and comedian Robo Shankar at just 46 years old. Known for his unique style of humor, unmatched energy, and unforgettable performances, he left a mark that went far beyond the screen. His death was confirmed late on Thursday night at GEM Hospital in Chennai, where he had been admitted just a couple of days earlier in critical condition.
Doctors revealed that Robo Shankar was suffering from a severe gastrointestinal bleed and multi-organ dysfunction brought on by a complex abdominal condition. Despite intensive treatment in the critical care unit, his health deteriorated rapidly, and he breathed his last on September 18, 2025, around 9 p.m. The news has left his fans, colleagues, and the entire Tamil film industry in shock.
