GTA 6 Faces Another Delay, Now Pushed to November 2026
Fans of Grand Theft Auto are once again being asked to wait a little longer. Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will not be arriving in May 2026 as planned. Instead, the long-awaited game has now been pushed back to November 19, 2026 .
This marks yet another delay for what’s easily one of the most anticipated video games in history. Originally, GTA 6 was expected sometime in 2025, but the timeline has continued to stretch out, frustrating fans and investors alike. The delay was revealed during Take-Two’s latest quarterly earnings report, where the company also acknowledged that the previous pushback had already caused a multi-billion-dollar hit to the gaming business—roughly around $2.7 billion.
In a statement, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick tried to reassure fans, saying that Rockstar remains fully confident in delivering a “blockbuster entertainment experience like no other.” Rockstar Games echoed that sentiment in a blog post, admitting they’re sorry for the extended wait but explaining that the extra time is crucial to ensure the game meets the sky-high expectations players have. They emphasized that these final months of development will be spent polishing every detail so that the finished product feels as immersive and refined as possible.

Rockstar also expressed gratitude toward its community for sticking with them through the long development journey, noting how excited they are for players to finally explore the sprawling state of Leonida and revisit modern-day Vice City , a fan-favorite location that will serve as the heart of GTA 6’s story and world.
The hype around the game has been nothing short of staggering. The last official trailer, released earlier this year, reportedly smashed viewing records across platforms with an incredible 475 million views , surpassing not just every other video game reveal but even most blockbuster movie trailers.
It’s been over a decade since Grand Theft Auto V launched back in 2013, setting new standards for open-world gaming and storytelling. The gap between releases highlights Rockstar’s perfectionist approach, as each installment in the series tends to redefine what’s possible in video games.
So yes, the delay might sting for fans who’ve been counting down the months. But if Rockstar’s track record is anything to go by, the wait could very well be worth it. By the time GTA 6 finally lands in November 2026, expectations will be sky-high—and all eyes will be on whether the developers can once again change the face of gaming as they’ve done before.
